Objective of the project „EffiLayers“ is the development and the implementation of innovative photonic technologies for cost-effective and industry-oriented production of flexible, highly efficient organic photovoltaic cells in a Roll-to-Roll-process.
It focuses on the evaluation of efficient materials and the simultaneous utilization of „green solvents“, as well as the implementation of inline sensor technology for quality control during the coating process. The applied photonic technologies include substrate-pretreatment, drying of the applied wet-layers, selective patterning for serial connection, edge deletion and the concluding encapsulation of the produced photovoltaic cells.
Within the cooperation project the chair Applied Laser Technologies investigates the application of efficient materials, the utilization of green solvents and spectroscopic methods for inline-quality control of the drying- and coating process. In cooperation with the project partners the achieved results will be transferred from lab- to industrial scale on a Roll-to-Roll-system.
